Heroic Red Tara ~ Pravita Tara ~ Rabtupa We Drolma is the 1st of Suryagupta’s 21 Taras known for her swift, enlightened action that ends suffering.🌸

The beloved “Praises to the 21 Taras” originated with Shakyamumi Buddha himself, and in the 7th century Tara bestowed Suryagupta, a great Indian master and tantric adept the individual meditation practices of each of the 21 Taras directly through a vision.

A specific aspect of enlightened activity is represented by each of the different colours that the 21 Taras manifest as. A white figure embodies pacification, yellow indicates increasing, red signals magnetizing, blue/black represents the skill of subduing and green forms of Tara embody all-accomplishing swift action to counteract internal and external obstacles and fears.

Suryagupta’s 21 Taras each have their own mantras, unique postures, facial expressions, number of arms and specific ritual implements, but all are the multifaceted display of the same Buddha who is focused on benefiting sentient beings in whatever manner is needed.
